Citrusy Sangria | Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide

It's the chili of wine drinks really

This is a great way to use up value wine when it seems to not be up to snuff. Use any assortment of fruit as long as there are fresh orange and lemons.

Sangria

  • 1 bottle tolerable red wine
  • 1 cup triple sec
  • 1/3 cup spiced rum
  • juice of a few oranges
  • juice of a lemon
  • cut up fruit
  • cranberry juice

Soak fruit in triple sec and rum for a few hours. Add wine, orange and lemon juice and mix well in large pitcher. Add cranberry juice to taste and let sit in refrigerator for two hours. Enjoy over ice while eating the fruit.
